This week I have made a start on my model, using the measurements in my orthographic drawing and final design, I have cut the circular platform out of styrene and painted with black acrylic, giving it a roughly brushed finish, acting as the stage being performed on by the musicians. I have also measured out and created the body cores for both miniatures out of twisted aluminium wire and foil which I have fitted into the styrene base. I also ordered the 1ml syringes I need to fill up the glass container with, they should arrive next week.
These are the set of images I used as a reference to obtain the correct proportions. Although these drawings are static, and the miniatures are being positioned in dynamic poses, these still give me enough information about the human body.
So far, I have not had to amend my project plan, but next week I feel as though I will face greater challenges which may lead me to improvise and alter my methods of making.
Next week my goal is to sculpt onto the armatures to add detail, realism, and character to the figurines with Super Sculpey.
